Last night, I thought of the music from The Patriot. I'm not that familiar with the music from Jurassic Park.

It was ok, I think John Williams did that?
If he did it wasn't one of his best interests.

John Williams did both The Patriot and Jurassic Park. I like parts of the music for The Patriot.

I don't really remember the Patriot. Did that star Mel
Gibson.

It's on again this Saturday I think. Not sure what channel, but I saw it advertised for this weekend.

Re: Movie and T.V. soundtracks
i think they're passing that and Pvt Ryan back and forth on the tv this weekend....you'd think it was memorial day instead of Labor Day! (they need to be airing shows about unions ...or at least Office Space!).

I would think the movie Norma Rae would be appropriate for this weekend. It's about forming a union after all.

That's with Mel Gibson right? If so I'll check it out
of the library.

Yeah, I think it's set during the revolutionary war. I've never seen it myself, not even snippits of it.

I listened to the music from War of the Worlds last week and I don't like it anymore. I don't mind the music from ET.

It occurred to me earlier today that I never did really like the music to the Indiana Jones movies. It just never sounded all that interesting to me.

Re: Movie and T.V. soundtracks
It's all right, it's never been one of my favorites.
I know the march is insanely popular, but then so
was the Col. Bogey march in the Bridge Over the River
Kwai. At the time is was all over the palce. Still John
Williams has done better.

Re: Movie and T.V. soundtracks
Yes, and the march is far older than the film.
Everybody associates it with the film because of
Maurice Jarre successful use of it in the movie.
You should be able to pull it up on YouTube.

Re: Movie and T.V. soundtracks
John Williams definitely has done better. But then any composer is bound to have ups and downs.

Re: Movie and T.V. soundtracks
I agree, his two best at least to me
are the Cowboys and the Empire Stricks
Back. I have to go back to the start of this
thread but I know the Cowboys are in my top
ten, The movie is fantastic, if you haven't seen it
do so.
The Cowboys are number two in my top
five. I went back and looked.

Re: Movie and T.V. soundtracks
I think Schindler's List may be one of his better ones as well. It seems like the music by itself is haunting in its own way. I'm not familiar with Cowboy and may check it out.
