I watched the Disney version of Tarzan. I have not seen it since I saw it in the movies...back in 1999! It is has the usual great animation, music and writing you would expect from Disney...but it also had a surprisingly high body count.

Watched 42, the Jackie Robinson biopic. First things first, the movie has been overhyped.
The other thing is that this is a baseball movie. So if you don't like baseball give it a pass.
Now as to being over hyped. Well let's just say it didn't live up the buzz. It's a well crafted movie, good cast, some of them young and just starting their careers and I'd like to see more of them. A couple of stalwarts, Harrison Ford, Christpher Meloni (Law & Order SUV).

Still I'll give it  Eating Eating Eating Eating

I loved Charlotte's Web when I was a child and it held up just as well watching it as an adult. It also holds up very well for being a movie over 40 years old.

Watched Star Trek: into Darkness. Okay gang it's a Star Trek movie. So unless you are
really into Star Trek give it a pass. For the rest of us. It was damn good fun. I love this
cast and would like to see them do other things than Star Trek. I know John Cho is doing
Sleepy Hollow. He's really good in that, I just got bored with the series. The other thing is
that this is a different take on the Wrath of Kahn and the original episode from the t.v series. In fact this movie pays homage to the scene in the Wrath of Kahn where Spock dies, only this time it's Kirk. Kahn is played by Betrand Cumberbatch?,This is the actor who is doing Sherlock on PBS. Serious evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil factor here. All in all good fun, Eating Eating Eating Eating

Benedict Cumberbatch. I've been watching Sherlock on dvd from the library....like him better as Sherlock then I did as Khan. Still, he played the part of evil genius with gusto. Khan was the first role I've seen this guy in as a matter of fact.

Anyone seen Elysium? Is it any good? It's due back today at the library and thinking of checking it out for the weekend.

Fif, your right he did do it with gusto. I had a problem with him as Kahn because of
ethincity(sp). In certain ways Ricardo Montoban was a better match. Still it was very
well done.

Maybe this Khan was like me....Native American on one side of the family but didn't inherit the coloring. I'm 1/16 blackfoot indian but you'd never know to look at me unless you're familiar with typical indian bone structure....I sure didn't get the coloring at all.

Actually Kahn, was not Native American, look it at his name.
Watched Puss 'N Boots. It was terrible other than Antonio's
name sake it was worthless.

I watched Mulan for the first time since it was in the movies. Mulan is a wonderful empowering character and the movie had great animation and a lot of humor and heart.

The Princess and the Frog is a good movie but it does not reach the heights of Disney's animated classics. It is "inspired by" (aka very very VERY loosely based) on The Frog Princess by E.D. Baker. She is one of my fav writers and that is the first book of one of my favorite series. Maybe someday someone will make a faithful film version of an E.D. Baker novel.

It also was a tribute movie. One of the tributes was to the movie Stalag 17 and the other was the Great escape. In fact I think one of the chicken coops had the number 17 painted on it.

Just finished watching Hatari.  This is a John Wayne movie set in Africa.  Howard Hawks directed, along with Wayne, it starred Red Buttons, Hardy Kruger.  It wasn't that great but the photography was great and what's not too like about a Mancini soundtrack.  Eating Eating Eating

Watched Time after Time last night. Starred David Warner as Jack the Ripper, Malcolm McDowell as H.G. Wells and Mary Steenburgen. It's somewhat dated and the print really needed to be cleaned up. Still it was an interesting twist on Wells' novel the Time Machine.
The plot is that Jack and Wells knew each other in 19th century London, Jack hitches a ride with Wells to the 20th century.  Eating Eating Eating

I remember that movie!
Watched Gladiator (never saw all of it before this) and Braveheart the past two days. I forgot all about the mooning the enemy scene. Library had a "free video" day on Monday in celebration of Library Week. I have 4 more movies to watch yet.

Caught part of Dispeciable(sp) Me last night. I'm going to get from the library and watch completely with commercial interruptions. It seemed really cute.

I got 101 Dalmatians on DVD today. I have not seen it in years. It is a great movie. Adorable and heart warming and fantastic animation.

It was the first movie I ever saw in the theatre. It was the 1991 30th Anniversary re-release.

The most clever and funniest thing about The Nut Job was the title. It could not even be saved by Liam Neeson as an evil raccoon.

I re-watched Gnomeo and Juliet. I will never understand why it got bad reviews when it was out. It is cute, clever, funny and has great animation. What more can you ask for?
