I don't drink and way back when I did it was only one or two for the entire evening so they wouldn't make me leave the place. However, when Bij is being a bit trying I do down a bit more chocolate than usual.

He's been bad about counter surfing too. I was cleaning stalls yesterday and came back in to oranges scattered all over the kitchen. Maybe it's too many changes all at once, or maybe it's because I don't let him run around during hunting season. Too many hounds running everywhere. Most of the hunters know me and wouldn't take him, but I still don't want him running with hunting dogs. Those days are over.

Today was bath and adventure day. Poor doggie was shivering when he got in the car. It wasn't super cold, but it was cloudy and kind of damp. He did not like it. I got his light jacket, but it's too small. Shrank in the wash!
As always, he was great for his bath and everyone there said Merry Christmas to the dog. After, he went to the fancy pet boutique in town to find a coat. They had one on sale for $30 that is perfect. It unzips down the back, so he can step into the leg holes and not have to wrestle it over his elbows.

Big day at Petco. We went for cat litter and came out with snacks AND litter. Bingo got to pick his own cookie flavors. He wasn't aware that some have corn starch or corn syrup. Those couldn't come home.

Bingo snores! He is sound asleep on his pillow sawing logs. It's funny. He woke himself up once and looked at me like I did something.

Re: Bingo found a home
I have to adjust the new coat a little bit. The tummy is about an inch too long, and some doggie misses when he tinkles. I think I can make everything good by putting a button and loop on the neck. It's a bit big, and the blanket slips back. So, if I do that, and maybe tuck the belly part just a little bit, we'll be rocking the warm coat for the next few freezing days. I want to take Bingo for a new year's walk at the park, but he'll definitely need something to keep him warm.

Safety pins are the answer! Bingo wore his adjusted coat, and he was happily napping in the sun in 23 degree weather. Success is sweet.

Bingo's friend, Mateo, is here for 3 weeks. His mom has to work somewhere that doesn't have a dog-friendly hotel close, so he's here for a while. Bingo is a happy dog. This will be good when I have to do the long days for work. They can keep each other company.

Sounds fun for Bingo, what's Mouski's take on it.

Mouski has it all under control. He rules the dogs! Mateo lives in a house with 4 kitties, so he knows that they are in charge. GK, however, is mightily put out.

Give GK some extra scritches and snuggles.

He has stated his opinion. Mateo got the big hiss and swat. I think the two will call a truce, and just avoid each other.
I took the dogs for a "walk" today. There were patches of black ice, so I know how a dog sled feels. They were ahead, and I just skidded along on the leashes. It should be better tomorrow. We got to almost 50 degrees today. Seems like tropical weather compared to this time last week.

Re: Bingo found a home
Today was doggie daycare day. He had to go to evaluate which group of dogs he wanted to play with and ended up spending 1/2 the day there. He loved it. When they brought him out, his tail was wagging, and he asked if he could stay longer. We signed up for 10 stays, and will probably continue doing it. One day each week spent with dog friends will be good for him, and the kitties will probably appreciate having the house to themselves.

Bingo got another new coat - from the Mutts store. I don't have a pic of him in it yet, but it fits really well. If you know anyone looking for dog clothes, this is quite nice and not very expensive. Bingo wears a 3X.
Of course, the kitties got LPSes.

If no one here can use it, I'm sure one of the local rescues would love it.

His old blanket that doesn't fit quite right is headed for the shelter.

Bingo and his buddy Mateo went on a walk today. It was still cold, but beautifully sunny. They had a great time running around sniffing all the snow piles. I think they were going stir crazy staying inside with only short yard romps.

Re: Bingo found a home
Longer walk today, and no doggie jackets necessary. People jackets are still required, but I don't like to be without one until it's over 65 degrees.
Poor Bingo is a little sleepy after the exercise. He's been in lazy dog mode for a few weeks, so all the outside time is a lot for him.
