Re: Bingo found a home
It POURED rain this morning. After lunch, the sun came out and it was really warm. The dogs went for a short walk, and we really wanted to go to the beach, but green papers were calling.

Sunny but chilly. Now it's downright cold.

I've heard that winter will be coming back here too. Bingo isn't thrilled with that. His friend is going home on Tuesday, and he will be going to his first full play care day next week. He might have to bring his jacket. The play care place has an indoor play area for bad weather times, so all will be good.

Re: Bingo found a home
Bingo is ready for his friend to go home. Mateo is starting to get a little obnoxious, and Bingo is too old for that stuff. He decided to spend most of today outside while Mateo was inside. It all worked well, and I think Bingo enjoyed soaking up the sun. Every time I checked on him, he was next to the barn lying on the pile of grass clippings I piled up there to protect the fig tree. The poor tree might not make it, but the clippings make a great dog bet. (The other fig tree looks fine despite the awful weather we've had.

That's the truth. He's been here for 3 weeks, and we're all ready for him to go home. He's 100 pounds and very energetic. He's too big for the house, and is very klutzy. He's a nice dog, but we all like him better when he's here with his mom.

At that size I agree. He would take up my entire living room.

Re: Bingo found a home
Bingo went for his flu shot booster today so he can go to play care next Wednesday. He tried to drag me to the playcare door instead of the vet door.
He gets to stay all day. They have nap time from 12:00 - 1:00, and he can have a snack then too. It's like sending a kid to day camp. How great! I'm looking forward to him being able to have some fun with new friends. The weather is supposed to be pretty nice so they will be able to play almost all day outside. If it gets too cold or starts to rain, there is inside play too.

Of course! They would probably put you to work with the pups.
It was really cold but sunny today. Bingo spent most of the day outside. He chewed on bones and napped in sun puddles. Now, he's sound asleep in front of the wood stove. Tomorrow looks gloomy and rainy (because we don't have enough flooding and mud), so he'll probably nap inside all day.

LOL!! In that case I don't know what good I would do.
Same here and the real kick in the head is that I set up the back porch and it will be too cold to sit out.

Total success. Bingo had a blast, and is very tired. He passed his heartworm test (of course) and got his next 6 months of prevention meds. The tech said he's a very good dog. I need to decide his next day. I'm not sure if he should go every week or every other week. Guess I need to decide tomorrow since I should schedule ahead of time.

Re: Bingo found a home
I signed him up for Wednesday visits since I can go by there on my long drive to Richmond. He seems more energetic even 2 days afterwards, so it must be a good thing. And, since his secondary vet is connected to the play care, he can get his maintenance things (like booster shots/heartworm tests) done while he's there. No need to do anything but sign a paper saying they can pick him up for his appointments.

And today was bath day. He had to get the Furminator treatment because he's been leaving tumbleweeds of shedding all over the house.

Tomorrow is play day. I told Bingo today, and he was all waggy. I think he knows the word "play."

Yup. My parents have to spell words at home because their dog gets so excited when he hears them. They swear he is learning to spell now.
