With the time change and the clocks so am I! I'm sure they'll get back on schedule soon enough.

I hope so. I thought I saw Whiskey when I was going to fed the away groups.

No. It's their plot to drive me crazier than I already am.

Hi, My name is GW and I'm one of the Rodent Patrol. Antonio the resident cat has told me about a holiday called Fangsgiving. There were three of us at one time but this year there is now only two. The one Food Lady called Tabby is no longer with us. Antonio told us that she wept bitter tears at his loss.
We are thankful to her and others like her who care of us Wild Ones. That fight for us and take risks for us. We are thankful for the food and water she gives us. We are thankful that we can live out our lives and not be abused, captured and killed. For all of that we give thanks. GW and Sport.

I am so sorry about Tabby. But I am glad you have these angels to take care of you too...the ones who care and cry when you cross the bridge.

Re: Feral for life
I saw two of our local colony crossing the road on my way home tonight. One was the usual black that most of that group are, and the other looked like a gray tabby. I'm glad it was me coming down the road. if it was someone who doesn't slow down or stop at that corner, they would have been toast.

I had a cat dart in front of me when I was going to feed the Away Groups. It's a residential street so I was driving very slow.

Hi, my name is Scruffy. I've been told by others about this thing called CrispMouse. I'm not sure what it is, it's supposed be a season of joy and love. I don't what any of that is, still my life is better thanks to the Food Lady. I don't get into fights anymore and when I come to her door, I'm given food and can eat without fear. though I'm always fearful. Scruffy
(I think Scruffy has been around more than I think. Since and Sport are black it's hard to tell them apart unless I can get a good look at their ears.)

Hi Scruffy. CrispMouse is a great thing. I bet the food lady will have something special for you when you come to the door. You will find that you get less fearful the more you stick to a routine. It is comfortable to have things to expect. I hope your CrispMouse brings happy things for you, and that you are warm and comfortable.

Hi, Mouski, he licks the gravy off the tinned food but eats his fill of the kibble. I wish he would settle into a routine.

Re: Feral for life
Thanks, I feel bad during the winter that I can't feed more tinned food than I do. I think Scruffy is having a late snack. I can't tell he's black and there is enough light to see both ears. The left is TNR tip but the right is torn due to past fighting. That's the only way I can tell Scruffy and Sport apart.

Could be. Basic black seen to be the gene pool around here.

Same here. All the wild kitties are mostly black. Some are tuxies, but all are mostly black. Some of the rednecks toss out a tabby once in a while, but they don't hang around long.

That's sad. There are better ways and they know it. I saw Whiskey tonight. I don't if he came to the back to get something to eat. I've been leaving food out overnight and I don't normally do that.

Has he been back the past few weeks? How are they handling the weird winter weather we all seem to be having this year?

Re: Feral for life
I've seen him at a distance. Scruffy was here today, he's looking even more scruffy. I worry about him, he's FIV+. GW and Sport are doing well despite the extreme weather we had. I did have an upset at one of the away sites. A homeless person decided to camp out the Boys and Girls Club. I can understand why, recessed doorway, out of sight of the street and electrical outlet. I contacted the Boys and Girls Club and they handled it. I felt bad but that was not a good idea for them to stay.

Re: Feral for life
Yeah... With kids around, there's only trouble with that situation. Better for him/her to stay somewhere safer for everyone.
I hope Scruffy is doing ok and is just looking winter-y.

All the wild ones are doing well. It's been bitterly cold here but everyone seems to be doing well.

Isn't it amazing how they can keep it together while we wimp and whine in our houses? I'm always impressed at how smart they are. They're doing well because you take such good care of them.
