Re: Feral for life
A quick check in. the weather has been filthy, but everyone has checked in for a meal. I don't know where they are denning up but everybody is dry at least. I wasn't able to feed the Away Groups last night, it was coming down in buckets. It's still soggy but I will go tonight. I will take something to put the food in since I know there won't be a dry spot.

I realized that I have not updated the thread on the Rodent Patrol. They are doing fine, even Scruffy is holding his own. The Away Groups are also doing well.

Glad to hear they're all doing okay. I hope this summer proves to be a good one for them, and you too.

Re: Feral for life
I saw one of the few ferals on the corner this morning. The black mama was taking a nap on the warm pavement. Fortunately, the pavement she chose is basically a driveway, and everyone there knows that the kitties live there. Most of the people put out snacks and water. I think some have been TNRed.

Re: Feral for life
That's good that some have been TNRed. Hopefully they will all get done. There is someone feeding one of the away groups, I'm glad for the help I just wish I knew when they were going to show up.

I haven't seen Scruffy since the 21st. I thought I saw him across the street at the nursing home. On an interesting note, there is someone feeding one of the Away Groups and I think one of the neighbors is feeding. I saw one of them eating on a front porch and then lolling around on the same porch. That's new.

Spotted Scruffy last night when I going for a walk. He's hanging out across the street at the retirement home. I've spotted two young adults here. One a classic tux and other is beautifully marked brown tabby.

Glad Scruffy is still around. Do the people at the retirement home feed kitties? I bet it would be good therapy for some of the residents.

They're not supposed too but like that's going to stop them. I knew at one point there were shelters and a feeding station but I think that may be gone. Still I'm happy to know that he is alive.

Re: Feral for life
You'd think the staff at the retirement home would want some kitties around to keep the bad critters from being a pain. I'm glad he's alive too.

Re: Feral for life
The Rodent Patrol is doing well. A neighbor is keeping a bowl of water on his back porch and keeping the birdbaths filled. He's elderly and not doing well. So I keep an extra eye on the water bowl.
I have a Tuxie showing up along with an Orange Dude, I think the Classic Tabby may have been killed in the street. As gruesome as it is, there was barely enough to id so I'm not sure. I hope not, he looked so much like Tabby that it broke my heart.

Re: Feral for life
Aww. It's so sad to see that. When we had a big feral population, I swear people aimed for them. They certainly didn't try to avoid them anyway. I hope the accident victim wasn't the tabby. Like you said... It can be hard to identify sometimes.

Re: Feral for life
Saw the missing tabby slinking across my neighbors backyard tonight. ***SIGH**** GW is also loitering about over there. I filled the water bowl with ice and it didn't take long to melt. Haven't seen the orange dude in the past twenty-four hours.

I hope they all are well and safe despite the summer heat and traffic. So sad about that kitty in the street...not even much left for burial. Poor lil furbabe....

I know, it gets depressing. On a happier note the Orange Dude was at the feeding station tonight. I'm going to get with my neighbor about getting him trapped and his spa treatment.

I saw the Orange Dude this morning and later in the afternoon. Dang he's skinny. Tux Guy showed up after ten for a snack.

Re: Feral for life
Orange Dude might have worms. Not much you can do about that until he decides to go to the spa. Once he gets all his treatments, you have a way of making sure your ferals stay nice and "fluffy." At least he's showing up to eat.
