Thankful It's Finally Summer!

I'm happy that summer has arrived - finally! We had a great early spring, but later on it just got weird. Seems like we had June in April, and April in June for awhile now - especially with all the rain. I don't have a lot of plans for the summer, but I really don't need to plan it all out. I just enjoy the warmth!

you can keep your summer...to me it just means days at work sweating the entire time cuz the ac never works!(I'm aiming at Oct;) )

I like the time off from work for summer and not shivering from the cold like I do in winter but I don't like the suffocating heat of summer. We went from one temp extreme to the next in less than two weeks.

Warm, warm, warm - just the way I like it!

year around. all right not that bad but y'all know what I mean.

that's one of the biggest reasons its hard for me to think about moving back to TX....its just too hot all the time. i really love the change of the season, the fall and even the snow (though NOT the ice:) ). at least up north i know when i'm dying from the heat there will be cool weather coming

Oh, I understand. We just get so little really warm weather (but what we get is also quite humid, so harsh in its own way too), that I welcome every day of warm sunshine. (This is my new favorite icon!!!)

maybe you should try moving a little closer to the coast...i swear even though its cold here, its hotter here longer than it was back in MI. and there are fewer tornadoes here...or at least fewer that touch down.

If I didn't like my job so much, I'd be gone like a cool breeze - or should I say a WARM breeze???

If it weren't so darned expensive to move and if jobs weren't so hard to find.............and if my family weren't here................

I do like the summer wildlife though. Even the songbirds who wake me up at 4am, they'll be gone south for the winter soon enough.

oh,i'd move in a minute if i had a license and car. i'd move to MI and get some job just as pitiful as i have here but that job in MI would actually pay for a place to live! MI has tough winters but unless its an off year the summers shouldn't be so bad.

If you lived as close as MI, you may actually get to meet Argo & Lyra one day! We keep talking about taking them to MI for a long weekend sometime this summer, now that Argo is over his car issues.

Michigan is the place to go in the summertime, especially the second half of summer, if you want to pick your own fresh blueberries. My grandparents used to drive all the way from Florida for that every summer.

If the summers weren't so hot, I'd move a bit further south for the milder winters. I like the changing of the seasons, but the extremes of temps are a bit much sometimes.

if i ever move back to MI and get a little house or an apt i'd be happy to have folks come and visit:)
i miss picking strawberries in the big strawberry fields (yesh..MI ..esp the area where i grew up) has a LOT of actual Strawberry fields! never picked blueberries but picked elderberries (which i miss ..you can hardly ever find anything even elderberry flavored!)and cherries and apples and peaches etc.
this time of year if i was back at the house i grew up in i'd be picking and selling black raspberries..this is that time of year. (I used money i got from selling the berries to get my guitar and my roller (sneaker)skates:)

I miss picking the wild raspberries and gooseberries here. That lil patch of woods is gone, thanks to a mcmansion that was built on the site.

i got letter today from Scotland and even over there they're having a heat wave!

Seems to be heat waves all over the globe this year. And it's awfully early for them too IMHO.

sometimes the uk will have a little hot weather (by their standards) in Aug...but this is longer than usual and earlier for sure. one goodie is that Gem is getting a lot of excerise;)

Thankful it's now far enough into summer to watch baby wildlife playing and having fun. Got to watch 3 of the cutest lil squirrels playing in the yard last night!

Still thankful it's summer! Unfortunately, our lunchtime walk had to be the stairs again, because it would be foolish to go out at high noon and walk in the sun for two miles - not to mention that I'd have to spend the afternoon all sweaty at my desk - and I'm not happy about that, but as soon as the extreme heat and humidity pass, I'll be back out there with my little ice towel!

oh no...i wish it were fall...late fall! when its cold enough for a jacket but no ice to walk on! i had another one of those didn't think i'd make it home kinda days....when i got home i checked the temp on the garage in the shade and it was 100!

We got some torrential downpours this morning, and maybe they'll head east to you folks. It's nice and cool now, though it's supposed to warm back up tomorrow. Boy will it be humid if it hits the 90s again!

we've got expected thunderstorms tomorrow. I'm looking forward to Mon when the night time temp is supposed to be 67.
