Re: Bingo found a home
He ate something funny last night. I woke up to a yucky surprise. He is fine though. He's had his energy and went on a nice walk to visit his friends, William and Monet.

I didn't think of this, but maybe he was having reactions to the new meds. He's been absolutely fine since last Tuesday. Maybe a side effect is occasional side effect is tummy upset. He says it's ok if it keeps him from scratching his fur off.
Right now, he's lying on top of the AC vent. It's plenty hot outside today, and he wanted a cool down after his yard romp. I've kept the air a bit cooler since we have today off work. I usually let it go warmer during the day and just use a fan while I work, but I figure since the whole family is home, we'll splurge.

Hopefully the tummy upsets will subside the longer he's on the meds. Smart dog...hogging the AC. Quick way to cool off. Bet you could feel the heat coming off of him, didn't you?

They are much better now. Nothing for a couple weeks now. He was a bit *umm* gassy after he ate some watermelon, but I think that was just him being a dog. Ugh!

Had to pick up the first refill today. I was thinking that I'd stop the pills when grass pollen goes down. The vets said it is just as good to keep him on it since he feels so good. That way, he won't have to go through the loading dose and upset tummy again.

That is very true with meds....and with ragweed season coming up pretty quick here it makes sense to keep him on it for now anyway.

Funny thing is that he isn't sensitive to weeds at all. It's just trees and grass. But, I figure that there's always something pollinating here. Why mess with success?

Silly dog. Today he was chasing a dragonfly. It had the nerve to land on his back so he turned his head and woofed. It flew away, and he was on the chase. Too cute! I doubt he'll get a chance tomorrow. The weather is supposed to heat up a LOT.

So hot today. We went on an abbreviated walk. Bingo decided he'd had enough about 2/3 of the way to our usual turn-around spot. Even though I brought water and a portable dish, he was ready to come home and nap on top of the AC vent. Now that it's a cool 88 degrees, he wants to go outside.

88 is considered cool?
I would've loved to have seen Bingo woof at that dragonfly! How far did he chase it?

Compared to 97, 88 is frigid.
The dragonfly flew up instead of forward, so there wasn't much of a chase. Now, he seems interested in chasing some unseen thing in the grass. My suspicion is just that he's enjoying running around now that he's not itchy.

In Texas below 90 in the summer is considered a cold front.

A real scorcher today. We went walking early, and Bingo visited his friends, William and Monet. They weren't very rambunctious because they were warm. Fortunately, his friends are fine sharing their water. By the time we headed back home, the temps were climbing quick, and he spent the rest of the day sleeping all stretched out. Poor dog got a bit too hot. Bad mom!

Nah, bad weather. Next time, try portable shade ie: a large umbrella. Looks funny but helps a lot! Only way I kept from passing out from the heat working my crossing guard job in the middle of the highway.

Helps me, but the silly dog wants to walk way in front. Maybe I need to rig up a harness so he can carry his own.

Bet he'd learn to love it in short order when he doesn't get rained on or sunned on too much using that. I only saw it in clear but I bet you could spray paint it with that special stuff for plastics.

My dog is a barometer. We were walking this morning, and he suddenly said we needed to turn around. We just got in the house when the sky opened up. Smart dog!

Re: Bingo found a home
We took a walk in between rain showers this morning. It was a quiet time of day, so I let him walk off leash. All went really well except for a small diversion on the way home. He saw something in the woods and took off after it. I didn't notice because it happened behind me. When I turned around to check on him, no dog! I was lucky that he came out when i called for him. Good dog!

Good dog, coming to lead your human home when she got lost and called for you.
