LOL He pretty much chews everything important in one sitting. After that, it's just fun to gnaw on the leftovers.

It's adventure and bath day. We're going to the horse feed store and then to the doggie spa for a bath. It's awfully hot for dogs in cars, so our stops are all at places where dogs are welcome.

Extra good doggies get free bandanas at the spa, and don't have to make stops on the way home. Bingo smells fantastic, and he's pooped from his big adventure.

He's doing great. He was a rotten boy yesterday and pulled my squash plants up by the roots, but today he's left everything alone. Funny thing is that the squash plants have already re-rooted at the compost bin. They refuse to die!

I don't like this kind very much because the seeds are too big. I take those out, slice it really thin and fry with onions. It's ok that way. Not as good as zucchini or patty pans.
Bingo decided that he'd replant one of the pulled plants in the middle of the yard. It's happily taking root. Such funny plants!

Really! What are they called again? I need some very hard to kill plants for my veggie garden next year. I'm sure Chippie would love the seeds and I'd cook the squash for myself.

They are called cupcake squash. They are supposed to look like cupcakes, but mine came out more pumpkin shaped and dark green. I wonder if they got mixed up with a different kind somehow. The flesh is pretty good baked, but if you want a more typical summery squash, I'd say go for patty pans. All squash are pretty indestructible.
Today, Bingo got to go to work with his dad for a while. They were in Williamsburg near play care today, and his coworker said they should pick up the dog so hubby didn't have to drive back to Williamsburg to pick up the dog. I wonder if Bingo can land a job as the company spokes dog.

Re: Bingo found a home
Bingo was supposed to go to play yesterday and boarding overnight, and 1/2 a day of play today while we were in Northern VA for a concert. Unfortunately, the play area had been exposed to a dog who came down with a URI/virus, and they closed it for deep cleaning. They're closing for a week to be sure the area is not infected, and all dogs who might have been exposed have time to get better or just shed the virus without infecting other. So... Instead of play time, Bingo got a "cabana spa day," which means he got to play with people in his private run, which is disinfected after every dog stays. He is home now, and is tired from socializing and not being home. So far, he seems like he is in great health and is very happy. I appreciate them being so careful. I don't think Bingo realizes that he is too.

That's wonderful that they go so far, I've heard some horror stories and I often wonder how well places like Petsmart, etc clean their areas.

Re: Bingo found a home
I know our PetSmart and Petco are pretty good about it. They do have people carry puppies (or put big ones in the buggies) so they aren't exposed by contact with the floor. They have warning signs if they know that infected animals have visited. But... Since anyone can bring their dog or cat into the store, there's only so much they can do. I'm keeping the kids at home for a couple weeks so this can run its course. Apparently, the infection is pretty widespread. Colonial Williamsburg, a couple stores in Newport News, and a store in Gloucester have reported being exposed, so I think it might just be a doggie "cold" going around. It happens, and fortunately, it isn't a bad one for relatively healthy dogs.

Re: Bingo found a home
Play care is open tomorrow! Bingo will be a happy dog. It's supposed to be really hot and muggy, so I bet they won't play outside too much. Probably only in the morning, and then they will get to take turns in the indoor play room. There are nice rest areas inside so they don't overheat. It's all fancy.

He's pooped. I asked him to come out when I fed the horses (he gets his own carrot). He was so sleepy that he almost didn't get up for his orange food! That's one sleepy pup.

I wonder if it's the weather. He was sleepy all day today too. The AC maintenance guy came, and he didn't get up to get petting. Usually, he mugs the delivery and maintenance people to get lovin'.

Re: Bingo found a home
He is. The heat and humidity are taking their toll on the poor guy. He also knows the maintenance guy from several visits, so I guess he figured napping was the thing to do. He did wag his tail when the guy petted him.
Last night, he was wound up when I got home from a friend's house. He ran around like a puppy, and ran to each horse stall to make sure all his grass eaters were still ok. I guess he's doing fine, and the cooler evening weather made him feel good.
