Re: Severe Weather Check-In
We are iced in. It looks like a fine mist of ice is falling right now. It's below freezing and
supposed to be in the teens tonight. I've got food set out for the Rodent Patrol, I need to find a bowl for water. I don't know if I will be able to feed the Away Groups or not.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
I heard you might get up to 1/2" of ice before it's all said and done Sue. I hope the kitties at the away stations are okay. I don't think you're going to be able to get to them for at least a day, until they salt down the roads good so you don't slide into the next county.
We had fog for 1 1/2 days, so thick you couldn't see across the intersection....then the temps dropped 30° in 12 hours. We have snow in the forecast too, and are under a severe cold advisory. Warning about frostbite if you stay out more than a couple minutes. LordHelpMe at work for the next week or so.

I'm not going to be able to get to them at all The side streets are terrible and even the main thorough fares are not in good shape. At one point they closed an interstate that goes through Dallas. The Rodent Patrol has a bowl of kibble out and water. I just put out
some wet food. I saw Tabby earlier and GW a few minutes ago. I refilled the bird feeder, what little was left was frozen to the bottom of the feeder.

Is the storm over yet? It narrowly missed us passing by on it's way east.

We did get more snow yesterday afternoon, but it wasn't much. We got 4-5 inches of snow.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
hope everyone is okay. I heard about the deep freeze in Dallas, Sue.
we has some snow which turned into rain overnight but just north of us is was freezing rain. There was a 20 car pile up near White plains, and another one on I95 near Greenwich. I just heard about another big car crash near where Jeane lives

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
So far we're okay here in frozen Rockton IL. -13 for work this morning, no wind chill thank heavens.....better than the -46 (actual -18) on Monday and the -33 (actual -16) we had yesterday for wind chills. Only one word to describe these temps: brutal. Supposed to be -10 tomorrow morning, then a big warm up, if you can call lower 30's warm. Only warming up so it can snow on us some more.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
It's getting better in Tat-land - blue skies, but cold - about 8 degrees this morning, climbing to mid-20's. Tomorrow, low 30's. By the weekend, 50's - YAY! Looks like Tat and I have made it thru.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
It's crazy out there! Wes sent some photos this morning. We wouldn't need a pool today because you could swim in the yard! They're saying it's the biggest one-day rainfall in the history of Phoenix!
Re: Severe Weather Check-In
Holymoly! I just looked at pictures online. It's rainy here, but we're built for it. Poor Phoenix. I hope your house is okay, BC.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
I immediately thought about poor BC when I heard the news (via our Phoenix office which was closed today because of the rain and flooding.
I understand it is because of the hurricane in the pacific. Whod a thunk it!

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
Did you ever think that Phoenix would be hit with a hurricane?? That's almost as likely as Chicago getting hit by one.
Wesley is still at work. I'm anxious to hear how things look to him when he gets back to the house.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
Thanks. The yard still has puddles, but the runoff seems to be flowing in the right direction - away from the house and toward the street, the way it should. That's important. The house was fine. The two dogs, however, are giving Wesley a few fits because they're running through mud puddles and making Daddy clean them up in the sink.
Re: Severe Weather Check-In
Glad the house is fine but as for the dogs. Well that's how it goes with children.

Re: Severe Weather Check-In
I didn't see any pictures of the flooding but I can imagine......and all the mud being tracked in by multiple lil paws.
Glad the house and family is okay.
